QM Environmental International, founded in 2000, specializes in environmental biotechnology. QM solutions are used in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, bioremediation, odor control, algae control in ponds and lakes. QM offers a range of microbial additives that can be used to help solve and prevent environmental problems. In 2020, QM began developing microbial biostimulants and bioactivators for livestock, agriculture, horticulture and aquaculture. The products for agriculture are known under the brand name MicroAktiv®.
For agriculture and horticulture, MicroAktiv® products aim to increase crop production in arable and greenhouse crops by reducing abiotic stress and increasing fruit and flower development.
For livestock, MicroAktiv® offers a new way to reduce the environmental burden created by this industry. Products to reduce ammonia emissions in stables and thus increase animal health and improve the feed conversion factor, increase the fertilizing value of animal manure and optimize the anaerobic digestion of manure, which leads to increased biogas production.
For aquaculture, MicroAktiv® offers solutions for algae control, to improve water quality and thus to improve the health of fish and shrimp that are farmed commercially.
Product Quality & Safety
The microbial products offered by QM meet the Class 1 standard for microorganisms, as defined by the European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB) and are considered “Generally Regarded As Safe”. They comply with EU Directive 2000/54 on the protection of workers from risks related to exposure to biological agents at work. Intensive monitoring before, during and after the production of ingredients and the final product in an ISO9001:2015 certified laboratory and production facility ensures the safety of the products for humans, flora and fauna.
